Abide Family Center: Seeking an Executive Director

Operating in Jinja, Uganda, Abide Family Center is a Christian faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on empowering vulnerable families to keep their children at home and out of orphanages. Abide Family Center comes alongside at-risk families in Uganda through programs including Case Management and Counseling, Small Business Development, Parenting Classes, Early Childhood Education, Emergency Response Housing, Pastoral Services, and Medical and Nutritional Services.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Abide Family Center’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. This individual will oversee 25+ staff in Uganda, help sustain and grow eight different programs, and oversee a $250,000.00 budget. This position is based in Jinja, Uganda and is hired by Abide Family Center USA. The position is paid.


  • Previous experience living and working overseas.
  • Minimum Requirement: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in a relevant field (Business, International Development, Social Work, Child Development). Master’s degree desirable.
  • Minimum one year commitment.
  • Organizational leadership experience required.
  • Commitment to Jesus Christ and to the mission of Abide Family Center, and ability to serve as a spiritual leader within the organization.
